Everyone that knows me, knows I LOVE <3 blazers. Seriously..... I wear them to work, and I change up the look when I decide to go out. For a long time now, blazers are no longer "just for work". Heck, I even wore a black blazer once to a wedding! It really all depends on how you wear it. There are different styles of 'blazers'; double breasted blazer, bomber jacket style blazer, tailored blazer, military style blazer, etc. and then... there is the draped blazer! My favorite!
The draped blazer has become very popular mainly (in my opinion) because it makes a plain blazer look sophisticated. Here is how I styled my olive green draped blazer, and my top reasons as to why you need one of these in your wardrobe!
As mentioned above, a draped blazer is more sophisticated than a blazer you would wear to work. There is a HUGE difference between a work blazer and this draped blazer (as shown in photo).
What I love about this draped blazer is, not only the flaps and side pockets, but the belt that helped create a waistline. That belt also helps in avoiding this outfit from looking frumpy.
If you have any insecurities around the waistline, a draped blazer is your answer! For it being a simple blazer, there is a lot going on in the front so it'll take away from the focus around the waistline.
Another reason why I personally love this style of blazer is because its versatile and can go with anything (especially with a white top)!
Adding different lengths of necklaces, is not only trendy but long necklaces will always make you look longer and leaner and give the illusion of a longer torso.
I decided to pair up this look with a simple but classic style clutch complimenting my jewelry.
Due to the outfit being very neutral, I chose to throw on these Ivanka Trump heels to add some edge to my overall look! I absolutely LOVE these heels as they are represented in a way that (fake) animal skin should be! With it's 3 1/2 inch heel, stylish straps across the ankle, and a chic pointed toe.... ugh I'm melting! <3

I hope this look has inspired you to try a draped blazer especially if you have never owned one before! Happy Tuesday!

P.S. If you recognize this outfit, YES I wore this when I met Tim Gunn. He loved my outfit too <3
